Freshen Up, Freshwater
Freshen Up,
Freshwater
Concept Warm and refined – an earthy space for self-care, enabling people to return wholly to themselves.
Ellie Roberts, the founder of Freshen Up in Freshwater, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, came to us at the beginning of a new chapter. After years of working as a Registered Nurse, she was now creating a boutique beauty studio, and knew intuitively how she wanted her space to feel. In a world awash with competing distractions, she would offer a serene haven where her clients could experience deep, peaceful renewal.
The original commercial pace needed to be completely re-defined, so the existing walls with their angular corners came out. They were replaced with a curved feature wall, flowing from the front entry to the two treatment rooms.
Creating subtle hints of the Mediterranean, the walls throughout were then treated to a coat of Murowash and Sand in Natural White, lending a softly textured, limewashed quality. French pattern Gather & Co. Ascott pavers ensured that the visual lines underfoot were worn to a comforting smoothness.
The calming glow of travertine downlights grace the walls of the waiting area where clients can arrive and rest in the welcoming softness of a forest green boucle armchair. The busyness of the outside world is quietly hidden behind linen blend drapes to maintain internal calm. The large reception table in solid teak, small Sarah Ellison marble side table, and the treatment room mirrors all share organic lines, creating a feeling of gentle flow. Natural textures and tones are continued in the woven rattan chairs and decorative clay vases.
Ellie’s space now welcomes people with its warmth. Soothing and tranquil, it allows beautiful moments of complete rejuvenation for each client.
